Do we have to put a security on rentals?
Yes...deposits are required on all rentals. Generally we take 2 times the expected rental as a security. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Debit Card or cash. Sorry...no checks are accepted. If you use credit cards, we typically only 'pre-authorize' the card. The exception to this is with scaffold or special event items: in these cases we actually debit your credit card.
Do you offer delivery and pick-up service?
Absolutely!! We know that you might not have the means to get your rental products to your home or job site, but that shouldn't prevent you from doing your job. When you order online (or when you call in) you can get a price for this handy service. To understand our logics regarding equipment going and coming to our stores, please review our policy:
Vehicle Loading / Transporting Policy
For safety and convenience we offer a delivery and pickup service. If you choose to carry products from our store using your own vehicle, we will assist you in loading as a gesture of good service. We will not secure your load for you. In consideration of your safety, and the safetly of others, as well as the well being of our equipment Rental Village and its employees respect the laws of the Highway Standards Act. If your vehicle will contravene this act we hold the right to disallow the load. Following are relevant excerpts from the HSA.
Overhanging load: Every vehicle carrying a load which overhangs the rear of the vehicle to the extent of 1.5 meters or more while on a highway shall display any time from one-half hour before sunset to one-half hour after sunrise a red light, and at all other times a red flag.
Proper loading: No person shall operate or permit to be operated upon a highway a motor vehicle that carries a load--or draws a vehicle that carries a load--unless the load is loaded, bound, secured, contained or covered so that no portion of the load may become dislodged
Weight: No vehicle or combination of vehicles shall be operated where the gross vehicle weight exceeds the axle unit weight on the front axle, plus the sum of the maximum allowable weights for all other axle units of the vehicle or combination of vehicles.
Penalty: Every person who contravenes this section is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine and, in addition, his or her driver’s license may be suspended.
As the consignor of goods, Rental Village, or it’s employee, who causes a vehicle or combination of vehicles (not owned by Rental Village) to be loaded so that when operated on a highway is guilty of an offence is liable to a fine.
